This is essex autonomous robotic fish tested in a small swimming tank. There is 3 motors on tail joint. The skin is water proof to protect motors. The name of the fish is G3. This video shows how the fish detect tank wall by IR sensors and change its behaviour to avoid collision. This fish can only swim under water surface by about 6 inches. A float ball is used to keep it floating.
