I am planning on getting a Betta fish and would like to know how to clean the tank properly. I have looked at a few tutorials on You Tube and found that many of the comments disagreed with their way of cleaning. So I am completely stumped here. Help please? By the way I am twelve so please have the steps be easy and understandable. Thanks!
I will have a 5 gallon tank for the Betta since that is what it needs to thrive.

Ok, my roomates and I are trying to clean our fish tank. We put all the fish in separate containers while we’re cleaning, and we were trying to clean the rocks below when all the dirt from the rocks sifted into the water, turning all the water brown.
Now, I’ve read that you only need to replace about half of the water when cleaning the tank…but in our case that would leave about half the water dirty and brown!
