I will not be able to purchase a water heater until next week so I do more frequent water changes to keep the betta warm. Can this be harmful? I know when he is getting cold because his fins start to look like half cooked fresh spinach lol and he stays in the corner. I just did a water change and he swimming again and his fins are fanned out again. Please tell me how to keep it warm until I get a heater

I have an old tank no heater and a new tank with a heater. What is the best way to move into the new tank without giving temperature shock? Do you:
1. put the betta in the new tank with room temp water and gradually heat it up to optimal
2. pre-heat the water and float the betta in the new tank, then move completely
3. pre-heat the water and add heated water slowly into old tank, then move completely
Help? Suggestions?

Hi there,
For school, I've gotta do a science project. I chose to do mine on tropical fish, and I have a section on Betta fish. Are there any cool experiments I can do on my Betta fish? I had already had a Betta, but I want to do some cool stuff with him. So, I'm already doing his air breathing (For those of you who don't know, Bettas breathe air) and his agressiveness towards his reflections. Are there any others that I could do? Oh, and nothing that will hurt ...
