Why does my fish like green peas better than fish food?

I heard you feed peas for constipation.
So I put a tiny bit inside and my fish started gobbling it up as soon as I put it in. I didn't fast him. I feed him 2 times everyday with a tiny bit of food. His/her stomach is normal.
When I put in goldfish flakes he swims up to the surface 2 minutes later and starts nibbling.
Smells better? Tastes better? Natural food? Take your pick.
if it is a large fish just like oscars then it would eat ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING. and if he is a goldfish and he eats the goldfish flakes it musnt be natural that he was getting fed his flakes. since flakes is a normal food made with un natural items. basically pea’s were living. and fish desire living food then dead.
