No, I have never had Tetra’s before, but I have had my one of my male fancy guppies get sucked up into my filter, and the other fancy guppy I had got stuck in an artificial plant that I had.

Listen to Sue. Absolutely correct. The only way the fish would have been sucked into the filter is if they are already dead or dying. Cycling is your issue. Must be done for every single aquarium.

let me guess – uncycled tank. ( google "aquarium nitrogen cycle" )
The biorb has a primitive undergravel filter and the only way a fish could be sucked to it is if already dead or dying.
If any fish are still alive in the tank do a 50% water change using water conditioner/dechlorinator and matching the water temperature. Then change 20% daily for a month.

Yes, they can be sucked into the filter and live. I had 6 Neons at bedtime, 5 in the morning, carefully started searching the tank to find it, no sign of it anywhere, then I moved some of the ceramic media around the filter & I spotted it inside. Removed the bubble tube & then the filter, it just carried on still alive, no problems.

I will try again, my last post deleted. I have had 2 Neon Tetra’s sucked into the filter, and they were well fish, took them out of the filter, and they are healthy and swimming about normally, tank is healthy and no dying fish, but they still can be sucked into the filter.

I have had loads of my minnows stuck in the filter. Not dead they were alive. There is a problem with the biorb for keeping small fish. i hate cleaning the tank. Dread taking the filter out as there is always a fish in there. I have a bubble guard over the tube. Today i decided to net them put them in a smaller tank and restart my biorb from scratch. Making sure my ceramic media covered all holes. Nightmare
