can I put my betta fish in a different tank?

18 June 2010 4 Comments

My mom has one of those betta fish plants that she used to have a betta fish in a really long time ago. She wants me to take my betta fish and out it in the tank that the plant is currently in ( like how you buy the plans with the fish in it from the store.) Can I do this? Or will my fish die. Normally the fish eat off the roots of the plants. Will I need to give mine its food or will it eat the plant?

No fish will eat the roots of the plants.
    It’s a misconception.

You will still have to feed it normally.
Your fish will most likely be okay with the plant. =]

Just a question, how long did your mothers previous Betta live for in the vase?

If it didn’t live for 2 or 3 years, then maybe it’s not a very good home for a betta.

Betta are carnivores, their natural diet is small insects and water critters, they dont eat plant roots. Thats like feeding a cat grass.

If you like your betta, dont put it in a vase.
