in school people tell that i am wrong that they are not called siamese fighting fish they call them jappanese fighting fish which i think is not true they also say they live in jappan so who is right me or them?
I CALL THEM SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH THEY CALL THEM JAPPANESE FIGHTING FISH

  • dinger454 said:

The correct name is Siamese fighting fish latin name betta splendens to my knowledge they are not native to japan but i may wrong. Having looked on a map i think japan would be too cold for them to live in the wild. Having looked on the internet there are people that call them japanese fighting fish but i think the more common name is Siamese.

were do you get realy colourful betas from because the shop near me only sells blue and red and their fins are ripped and their all kept in jars.

  • ryanaintg2y said:

    u r right…they r Siamese…they are found in Asia…not Thailand…

  • ryanaintg2y said:

  • weng099 said:

i had 2 siamese fish and now they died wats wrong

  • Danydarko1996 said:

Because you can put 2 siamese in the same tank they will fight each other

  • RobinsonSingers said:

what if you put a boy and a girl in the same tank

  • Danydarko1996 said:

if you’re so lucky they wont fight but when she is pregnant dont put them togeither

  • kawaiikiwi3173 said:

they will kill eachother if they don’t want to mate
if they do then they will mate
but they can’t live together unless they are in a giant community tank or a divided tank
my girl and boy are in a 10 gallon divided tank

  • kawaiikiwi3173 said:

Thailand is in asia, and Siam was what Thailand was formally known as.
Siam and Thailand are the same place and that’s where Bettas come from.
