can i addd the female before the male made his nest?

  • jten19 said:

most likely the male doesnt like the female then.

this mite be a silly question but why is it that when you are breeding betta fish you need a big tank but you only use a small amount of water capacity.

  • bboygold303 said:

you need to put the females in a separate cup, because the male will keep on chasing them which won’t make him make his bubbles nest, then after the plate is full bubbles this is when you need to release the females.
just to look at your female they are alredy ready to breed… because when a female put her head down to a male it mean they’re ready to breed… Let me know if you need more information about breeding bettas…

  • rockaboyhalla said:

no then the female will not get attracted and the male will just chase after the female

  • Mutt256 said:

    they can jump out lol

i need information on breeding them!!! i have 18 bettas and none of the pairs want to breed, they are in perfect condition idk what im doing wrong XD

  • sooosooo73 said:

    water level too high….
    put it lower….

  • Snoop14Dog said:

they need a big area to breed, such as this tank….about enough….you dont want fill the tank completely because when you release the female…the male will get tired because he try to chase after her in that FULL TANK…so thats why we normally just fill half of the tank

water level is way to low the water hitting the water from the filter or w.e that is is streessing yur bettas out thats why there biteing eachother when they follow eachother around and add a tea bag or a tea leave to the water it will relax them and stimulate them

if u dnt know wat ur doing dnt start yet,get information from ppl first and when thats done u can begin

  • triplethreatbass said:

Everyones tlkin bout the water level but the algae eater is the real prob he’ll eat the eggs if ur not carefull

  • cutevueguy said:

breeding betta don’t need filter..take it out..they don’t like the water moving..it hard to make baby..u don’t need the algae eater too…just the fish…i be breeding my soon…

  • gemotwisted said:

TAKE THE FILTER OUT!! DROP THE WATER LEVEL MUCH MORE. Take out all those distracting coloured plants and rocks. Nothing in the tank accept the stirofoam cup and LIVE JAVA MOSS. You need live plants for the female to hide in and the babies to snack on. And most importantly.. DO NOT PUT THE FEMALE FREE IN THE TANK WITHOUT A BUBBLE NEST! You put her in a hurricane glass or cup in the tank WHERE THE MALE CANNOT GET HER! Then once there is a bubble nest, release her.

  • gemotwisted said:

Your bettas and short tails, pet store I assume? Why are you breeding bettas when you have no knowledge? You wil have 500 babies to take care of and you dont even know what kind of betta’s you have? NEVER START BREEDING BETTA’S UNTILL YOU KNOW THE FACTS. This is almost animal cruelty. You could kill your betta’s trying to breed them without the How-To’s. Please research more before trying this again.

  • Carmador said:

dude what you gotta do is take a fat shit in the tank. the male will feed off the warmth and vitamins. its gotta be a sinker, not a floater.
    hope that helps

  • animalkid99 said:

Fail dude….. take out the female and let her recoperate… there is no bubble nes so the male has no intentions of loving the female all he wants to do is kill her and take all that equiptment outa there…. all you need is some live plants and a styrofome cup… bettas breethe air mostly not underwater…. and whatever they get from underwater isnt much that’s why they breethe air all that equptment is just gunna fk up your tank soo good luck man put the female in when there is a bubble nest

  • airrock100 said:

    really bad

  • Fish4RJ said:

Your not supposed to completely submerge that heater. I won the same one..

  • tdnkii said:

do you get all different colors when you breed them? or does it depend on the fathers colors?

  • arcitrix said:

That is not a good way to breed try searching videos in youtube. your bettas seem so stressed and i can see that your male betta is killing the female. Try do more researching. Breeding them is not that easy it takes patience and hardwork
