A 4 gallon tank is a bit small for live-bearer breeding purposes. Keep in mind that the fry need plenty of space to hide once they are born or else the other guppies will just eat them.

I’d suggest at least a 10 gallon tank with plenty of live plants and rock, maybe a some driftwood and other decor for some hiding spots. If successful, you’ll have a tank full of guppies within weeks.

Your tank is too small for any more fish – they are sold as homes for a single Betta although they aren’t ideal for this either.

Just stick with the two guppies or if they start to argue try & exchange them for 4 male endlers as a larger group will spead any squabbling & endlers are smaller.
