    Very good.
Remember that the substrate and all ornaments need to be cleaned with water before you add them to the tank. This is the ONLY time dechlorinated water comes in contact with anything linked with your aquarium.
The tank also needs to cycle, preferbly a fishless cycle, which can take from 2-6 weeks.
I assume you done this, and the video was just to help others.

Apart from that all is good. :D

yeah i did wash sorry i forgot lol, and i let the tank cycle for about a week (is that too less?) i am going to buy a filter soon but just lately havent had the time :)

    Bravo.

You can’t cylce the tank unless there’s a filter really! :O. The betta’s life is at risk :’(

    Thank you :)

no i had a small under gravel filter before that but then it broke… i need to get a new one but its not gonna be an under ground one, i also do 20% water changes like every 5 days aswell :)

  • ShanehShane said:

Aww. Shame it broke. :( It will still need recycling, I’m sure (and hope) the betta will survive, as it’s a very hady fish. :)

  • italapino12 said:

yh it should survive, i mean its not in one of thouse tiny 1/2 gallon tank, it’s in a quite reasonable sized tank. pluss i dont maltreat it like those people who put them in cups, at least i bought a heater and stuff for it…

hey ugh why do u not want any of the fish stores water in your tank? jw lol idk i just started

  • nexzabuza said:

fish store water can contain parasites

do u have to use a filter ? what type of tank is that …. do u need a heater if u live in the UK

  • italapino12 said:

Filter’s are recomended! :) unless you do frequent water changes. heater would be great too especially for the UK winters and i live here too and it’s been a cold winter lol. that was a small 5 gallon tank but i have moved him to a bigger one since. trust me the more space the happier the Betta would be. :)

    hope has helped.

Yeah I was thinking of doing water changes what every 5 -7 days ? In a 2.5 gallon do you think I could get some shrimps or maybe a snail to keep the tank clean ? Or do they not help?

  • italapino12 said:

5 to seven days sounds ok i geuss:) and well i have a golden apple snail and yes they do help, so do shrimp, though not sure if 2.5 gallon tank is sustainable :)

    nice tank

Right, I have found a spare heater, a spare one.. But its masive, the size of my heater in my 55 gallon community tank. But this is like 6 years old or 7 years old… lol, I have set it at 25 degress, i’ve put in a thing 2 read the temp and its 24 degress -.- highest 28degress lowest 18degress. What temp should I put it on ? Do you think I should even buy a Siamese Fighting Fish/ Betta without a filter. Or should I clean tank more

    Please Help :D

  • CamCool10 said:

I also have 1 live plant for oyxgen

  • italapino12 said:

thats good :) He’ll also use that to hide behind as they would in the wild, in the rice fields :D

You don’t need to cycle a tank for six weeks for a Betta fish. You’re being completely over the top.

  • ShanehShane said:

    Hello,
Please read comments properly, silly! :P
I said 2 TO 6. Cycling ranges between this period, sometimes its quick sometimes its slow. It all depends. It can even be longer than 6.
It clearly shows your lack of Fishkeeping knowledge.

Its a betta, probably the most hardy freshwater fish available in the pet trade. They are IDEAL beginner fish for the people who have never had fish before. They, I doubt, know much about cycling and other things that experianced fish owners would know about. They are so hardy, things like that should not bother them.
