How many time to add fish food in to fish tank to make ammonia turn it to nitritite and nitrate?

i want to cycle my fish tank . i know you should drop a pinch of fish food in each day so my question how many day do you have to drop a pinch of food to your tank? is it like only 3-5 days or what???
a faster way and cleaner way to do this is…do you have ammonia in your house…add a tea spoon the first day and a 1/4 tea spoon every 2 days for 10 day then check the levels of ammonia…
other wise to fully cycle with food drop a pinch like your feeding your fish evey day for two weeks to there weeks
