No actually the future of these mines is not using them at all. They are to costly to maintain and with modern sonar and proving to be fruitless.

Recent advances in torpedo tech’s have provided the US military with a device that can travel close to the speed of sound under water, making it 100% undetectable by enemy ships and submarines. These torpedo’s, when used with advanced sonar, can hit ships up to 10 miles away from the sub.
