Marine Biorb

10 February 2010 15 Comments

My Marine biorb with 2 false percula clownfish, a chocolate chip starfish, a cleaner shrimp and 15 lbs of live rock, the water is crystal clear thanks to it. Note: the rocks in the front aren't real, the real live rock is the yellow one in the back.

This is GREAT!!! I LOVE IT! I am now wanting a biorb aquarium.
I think there’s something special about these. You can see down into the water, from the top. Something you can’t do in a regular aquarium without sticking your head in the hood door or whatever.
    Beautiful!
How’s the saltcreep? Is that a problem?

There are not much saltcreep at all, just gotta wipe small amount off every few weeks..

This the first saltwater setup I’ve seen using the biorb. How’s it working out for you?

Was thinking about buying a smaller one for my neice or nephews.

It’s working pretty well. As long as people don’t overcrowd the aquarium and add fish that doesn’t require a current, they should do fine.

Amazing, but dont the fish need an Anemone or however you spell it XD

my only gripe would be the hideous plastic plants – they look totally unnatural in a marine tank .LOL

Be careful with the small saltwater tanks they can be allitle tricky to maintain, do some research and check out my vids of my biube if u want.

    what size is the tank?

  • macmyke said:

It was once thought the Clownfish needed an anemones to survive or be healthy. However, most experts today agree that is not true. in fact aquacultured clownfish are show to live just as long as those with anemones. However, if you do choose to get an anemones, they seem to love Carpet Anemones.

Well, if i would get Clownfish, i would get an anemone, they can survive without it, but it still is their natural habitat. Please correct me if i,m wrong, im 13 year old xD

  • macmyke said:

You are right, it is their natural habitat.

How do you clean your filter?
Do you have to remove the fish?
