From experience you can keep betta’s with other fish. Cory cats go well with betta’s. I wouldn’t worry about the gravel. I also have 4 neon tertas and 2 corys. They are all nice to each other and never had any problems. Mollies, rasboras, tetras, corys, and pleco(they get big tho and can kill smaller fish). The betta will chase the other fish but never had any of them die because of it. Hope this helps.

Some Corys will be fine, unless the gravel is like broken glass they will be OK.

A school of tetras or danios is probably OK, I would go with maybe 4 small cory cats and 6 cardinal tetras myself.

BiOrbs aren’t the best tanks ever made, but you have one of the bigger ones, and it can support a sensible amount of smaller fish just fine.

Fyi: The biggest biOrb is at 16g, Iv got one myself. :)

I dont no much about tropical fish as im a reef keeper but as far as i know bettas for aggresive fish and should be left alone in a tank :)

there are many fish that are compatible as betta tankmates. The four rules that you can use to determine whether a fish is compatible are

1) Not colorful or resemble a rival betta’s colors (guppies)
2) Not a fin nipper (Tiger barbs are a big NO)
3) The right size for the size of the tank (No common plecos in a 10 gallon tank since they get to 2 feet in length)
4) Lives roughly in the same water conditions as a betta (no brackish/saltwater fish)
