Why has my biorb LIFE become cloudy already?

16 January 2010 4 Comments

I have had a biorb Life 30 for about five days now, and have 4 danios (glofish), and a dwarf gourami.
Recently, the water has gotten cloudy. All of the tests are OK, but it is just a little cloudy.

I’ve never heard of a biorb life, but I assume that means 30 gallons. If so, you have a good number of fish in there to start. Maybe a little too much with the Gourami, but not too bad. The cloudiness is a bacterial bloom suspended in the water and happens to every new tank. Keep monitoring the water, as I’m sure if you don’t have any ammonia at the moment, you will have traces of it very soon. Again, it’s normal. Just don’t add any more fish until the water stabilizes.

Its called new tank syndrome and a bacteria Bloom

The Biorb would be cycling so the water tests wont be ok

try cutting the amount of food u feed them down to 1/2..dip your finger up to the end of your nail(by the white part)in the ater, now dip it in the flake food, shake off and dip it back into bowl..that should be more than enough food.
