EDIT: I’m sorry but you shouldn’t put more than one goldfish in a 10 gallon tank for two reasons: They produce lots of waste, and the ammonia build up is very dangerous. and, They get very large and are full bodied so the "one inch of fish per gallon of water" doesn’t really apply to them.

Standard Gold fish, Neon tetras, red tail swordfish, angel fish, catfish, black moore goldfish (my favorite!)…let us know in your edited version what you get!

ADDED: I had my 10 gallon tank for over a decade…never a problem, as long as you have the correct filtering system. My answer was merely ideas of what kind of fish, I never stated how many or which ones to place together. The people on here are very testy, wanting 10 points to win very badly as to keep giving you thumbs down. Take 10 points and $1.50 and that will gety ou on the bus people!!! Anyway, good luck with your tank!!!

Can’t beat a good old cheap goldfish—they live forever. Just make sure the one you buy isn’t too big for the tank.

Different types of goldfish. I have a black moore. Awesome. They get pretty big so I recommend only getting 1 or 2 at the most. You’re supposed to have 1 gallon of water for every 1 inch of fish. Tetras and guppys are cool, except they require a slighty higher temp than goldfish. You can get them, they probably just won’t live as long. Also, whatever fish you decide to get, make sure you do not over feed. Follow the feeding instructions on the food. If you over feed, the water will become very cloudy and dirty very quickly.

So, my choice would be fancy or black moore goldfish. Good luck!

I personally like platys, mollies, neon tetras, guppies, maybe even an algea eater. Those are for Freshwater i dunno if they are coldwater, the only coldwater i know is a good old goldfish.

You can keep most freshwater fish in a 10 gallon tank as long as it is cool.Problem is they grow and then they need larger quarters.I recommend against it.
