do betta fish recognise there owners?

ive heard betta fish recognise theyre owners and also do trciks to get food and let you know if they sad or happy is this true or just a myth?
p.s i also heard they respond to theyre name! is this true aswelll?
Whever I walk into the room my betta swims to the front of the tank and does a little dance! if I walk up to the tank with his food package he become more excited and swims up to the area in which he gets food! If he is happy he is more active and sociable and is always flaring! When he is in a worse mood he’ll sulk around lazily.
Bettas are full of peronality in my opinion!

As for the name thing! NO WAY fish have no ears they feel by vibrations! My betta does’nt know his name but he knows my face…
no its not true but people have taught there bettas to go through a hoop for food that is probly the only true part
I think mine does. He flares at unfamiliar people. But since his tank is on my desk, he sees me every day.
He usually hangs out at the top waiting for me to feed him ;)
I’ve also heard of people training their bettas successfully.
They’re incredibly friendly fish.
They will feel the sound waves (the vibrations in the water), which might cause them to respond, but they’re not ‘recognizing’ the sound of their names, per say.
My Betta just greets me when I walk in the room (comes to the surface of the aquarium), especially when I check on him. As far as knowing his name (he was given to me for my birthday in January, he’s red, and his name is Garnet), no, he doesn’t. Fish cannot hear.
mine seems to know me very well. he knows my routines now, knows when i close up my computer i am heading to class and flares at the computer.
when he hears my voice he comes front in center. i don’t know if the sound or the vibration.
he is a very freindly little guy.
i think mine know me.
Most – if not all fish – recognise their feeders (and that’s more than likely to be their owner), but it takes time for them to recognise them. Bettas are said to form a bond with their owners.
Tricks?? I’m not sure about that :-) They might do a little Feed Me dance though.
