Culligan the Betta Fish Builds His First Bubble Nest

Today is exactly one week since Culligan was put into his 5 gallon tank. I've had him for almost two week total time. Click link to left to watch in HIGH QUALITY I never though I'd see him build a bubble nest because I have read that many people's bettas build their nest after only a couple days in their new home. And his tank has a filter that creates a gentle current at the surface so I thought the bubbles wouldn't stick. Well, Culligan was smart and built it in a corner behind the intake ...

pretty bettas, i can tell the plants are fake and i normally dont like fake plants but those one actually look really good. i got a betta around dec 12 and after a week when i put him in his new 2.5 gallon he started making bubble nests too. lol my other betta makes bubbles nest alot too. i have a couple of videos of them up.

But The Plastic Plants Can Rip/Cut Their Tails.

My male only builds his bubble nests at night… i never get to see him build them…

my fish just started making a bubble nest today and today i have to clean his bowl.. :S will he be extra aggresive if i try to put him in a jar while i clean his bowl.. will he not eat cuz hes mad at me?? or will he just start over? lol

I have two male betas but either of them have ever done this; very interesting.
Aww he’s working hard at making that bubble nest =) At least you know he’s happy making it.
