Hi! I just got me a male betta fish & I also bought a 1 gallon fish tank that comes with a gravel stone filter. My questions is, since my filter brings out small bubbles through the filter tube and out in the water, will the bubbles bother my betta fish? and also my betta is not eating his flakes, does it take a while before he starts eating in his new tank or should I just purchase the pellets?

  • ilovefish1234567 said:

No the bubbles should do no harm. It shouldn’t bother him at all. The food your betta eats is his opinion. Give him a few more days and if he doesn’t eat that, then i would suggest trying him the pellets. The store you might of bought him from may have fed him pellets, and he may be used to that. So just give him a few more days and if he still doesn’t eat the flakes, try pellets. Thanks for the questions. Keep them coming!

my betta is red and he doesnt eat his pellets.. i gave him 3 in 2 days but hes not eating.

i see I’ve had this problem before. what you should do is you is give him 3 pellets everyday. if you see that he is not eating, then switch him off onto flakes. if you got him at a pet store they may have fed him flakes, so he might be used to that. i have 5 betta fish, and some like flakes and some like pellets. the flake food i recommend is Betta Buffet. You can find it at your local pet store. i hoped this helped!!

i hada beta in a 2 litre bowl he was realy happpy then i got him a 30 litre tank he hated it and was only in the corner even the miror didnt help then he died

  • ilovefish1234567 said:

i think the reason why he did not like the tank, is because he may of been stressed out, maybe because he was in a new a environment. it probably stressed him out.

  • ilovefish1234567 said:

yes. you need to have a tank that is atleast 2 gallons. but when you get him a new tank, then introduce him to new objects slowly, a big change, can cause stress on the fish, and may cause death.
