Freshwater and tropical are the same thing.

Is it freshwater tropical you mean?

These refer to the saltwater content of water – saltwater/brackish/freshwater.
These are just refering to the temperature of the water – coldwater/sub-tropical/tropical

So you can have saltwater tropical, saltwater coldwater, freshwater tropical, saltwater tropical and so and son.

You just have to add a heater to turn it to tropical, keep in mind Biorbs are freshwater only and cannot be turned to saltwater

You need to add an aquarium heater then let the tank cycle, then add your tropical fish.

Do you have a freshwater cold tank that you want to change to freshwater tropical? If so all you need is a thermometer and a heater. If its a convert to saltwater then you cant. Biorb does sell a marine conversion kit but to me this seems to be just a gimmick to get another $100 out of you. It doesnt include a protein skimmer which is a must have for marine aquariums, it does however come with an artificial live rock but i dont quite understand as live rock is left in the ocean for a year to collect marine organisms. Also to add to that the largest Biorb on there site is 16 gallons. A marine fish tank setup this size is a possibility it should only be setup by or with the personal advice of an experienced marine keeper.

Is your biorb coldwater? Sorry i didnt get what you mean. All you need to turn it tropical is a heater. A lot of people think when freshwater tanks are mentioned you mean coldwater but freshwater can be tropical as well. Coldwater temperature is normally around mid to high 60s and can even be low 70′s.Tropical aquariums are normally mid to high70′s to mid 80′s.

Biorbs fish tanks shouldnt be saltwater, they are not the right shape.
