I will be buying a fish tank (10 gallon) and will put 2 male Swordtales, albino rainbow shark, a couple of nerite snails, one Chinese Algae Eater, and two Dwarf Gourmis (male and female). The aquarium is going to be 78 degrees, have a 15 gallon air pump and a 5" bubble stone. Iwont be putting any live plants in there. I have seen the Aqua-Tech 5 -15 gallon filter which i am swayed toward. I have also heard some good things about BIO-Wheels.
There are so many out there i am pretty confused by the whole thing and have pretty much come to a standstill on what filter to buy??? Help!!!!

In my opinion Aqua Clear is the best filter in the world
Try a submersible one like the ones from the fluval filter range. Thats what i have and it does the trick perfectly
The only problem with the Aquaclear is that it makes a splash and has that waterfall noise.
The Aqua-tech filters are fine, they are a cheap aquarium filter and I have it in with my cichlids and it works well for me. There is only one thing i dont like about them which is that there is no flow regulator to turn down the current which I like the option of having when I am keeping bettas. What ever fish tank filter you go for make sure you can get hold of replacement cartridges easily enough. Although thats not really a problem if you shop online!
I would say check out your local fish store and see the filters in action first hand. Currently i use the filter from Marineland with a bio weel, i’ve had it for 3 years now and its still going strong, had no problems with it.
If you want to eliminate the splashing noise you can top off your tank.
I am using Aqua Clears power filter and think its really good, its easy to clean and there is the full range of filters to fit in different size aquariums such as 5-20 gallon, 10-30 gallons and so on.
