if it was a syphon the water would be going down quickly and all the gravel would be going up into the tube.

Just use absolutely no gravel – NONE atall! Believe me when i say the water stays a hell of a lot cleaner.

i need a little help please!!
im looking to get an azoo palm filter and either put it in my 1.5 gallon aquarium with my male betta or stick it in my 2.5 gallon tank that has 2 goldfish. Which should i put it in? Or should i get one for each?

Not necessary so(background/biochemistry and 40 years plus experience)Carbon/other dissolved gasses can precipitate out of tap h20 and ph can change if not aged at least a bit. (my tap to aged is over 5 points!) Cold water best used if pipes (older buildings) are of copper, hot water leaches metals. There is more dissolved oxygen in cold h20 which later precipitates in tank if not aged/bubbles can “burn” fish on contact – ie oxidize tissue. Many reasons to age H20/not enough space.

Is this being sold yet? i have seen a commercial tool but it was’nt cheap, it did however include water intake ability and a filter system.

could this be used on sand?

  • Use77 said:

it wont work with sand because the particles are so small it would probably be sucked out of the aquarium

  • cluder49 said:

i reckon so but gravel is better as it adds to the biological.

There is to much gravel in this syphon at the same time. Its fairly easy once your used to working with a regular syphon, you will soon be able to take out the right amount of water when the gravel is being cleaned.

And yes they can be used with sand, its also a must to clean it. The sand shouldnt be sucked up just hovered over.

Its so much easier with a gravel-less tank, i just have a sump pump

the dirt looks like its coming back out of the tube, where is it supposed to go?

  • therealdpen said:

I’ve got a similar device that connects to the sink. So it has a kind of “plunger” thing on the plug to suck the water out (fish crap, and all other crappy stuff) and put water back in. So the waist goes directly down the drain. My rocks don’t circulate like this but mine are bigger. Only down side is I’ve left the water on to fill it up and forgot LOL no safety switch.

  • slweeez said:

the dirt as you are calling it is actually sand, this is falling back into the gravel

  • Spyma said:

is this connected to a powerhead with water running through a foam type filter or a regular vac? The sound is bust on my pc so i cant hear what he is saying so he may have answered already :(

  • inachu said:

HAHAHAHAHA its so easy but the dude got a patent on a very very idea which I use with any halfway dcent filter canister and the only difference is he is using a powerhead/waterpump. Better to use a filter. :-)

  • wid23 said:

i cant seem to get my vac to work for some reason, anybody know what might be wrong with it?

  • taktsu said:

yea crip3 i agree with you when i see thiese videos it does look like the dirt falls bak down

  • GRICHENG said:

pour the water into the top part but make sure that your thumb is on the other side to build pressure

you have to make sure the tube is vertical so the water can get down to the bottom
